Michael Y. Chew, O.D.
Dr. Michael Chew has been in private practice in the Bay Area for nearly three decades. He obtained his doctorate degree in optometry from the State University of New York, College of Optometry. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of both the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association. Dr. Chew is board-certified to treat eye injuries and treat and diagnose various eye conditions. Dr. Chew also has extensive expertise (and fun, too) in fitting all contact lens types, from spherical to toric to multifocal and keratoconic lens wearers. As he travels between his two offices in South San Francisco to Millbrae, Dr. Chew continues his commitment to providing all his patients with his highest level of comprehensive eye care.
Christian P. Chew, O.D.
Dr. Christian Chew received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology from University of California, Santa Cruz and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences. During his academic career, he held multiple leadership positions, including consecutive terms as student government president of his class. Dr. Chew would go on to graduate with distinction from the Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key International Optometric Honor Societies. Dr. Chew has driven across the country (literally from coast to coast!) to seek prestigious clinical experiences in primary care, ocular disease, and complex custom contact lenses. Now settled back in the Bay Area, Dr. Chew is meticulous when implementing these specialties in eye health management to ensure his patients receive the best eye care possible. If you manage to catch him outside the office though, your best best might be at a national park or on a local golf course.
Marianne Florendo, O.D.
Dr. Marianne Florendo received her degree from UC Berkeley, and is an active member of AOA and COA. She is board-certified to treat glaucoma and eye injuries, and also has expertise in pediatric and adult vision therapy.
Mikey
Michael, also known as Mikey, is our lead optician and technician. He received his Bachelor of Science from University of California, Davis and is the one who can help you from selecting and adjusting eyeglasses perfectly to performing all your diagnostic procedures.
Denise
Denise is a graduate of Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. She has been in the optical business for 20 years. She is a people person, and really enjoys working with our patients. She will make sure that patients leave our office with a smile, and that their eyewear always fit well. Now that her human children are getting older and are more self-sufficient, she can spend time with her four-legged children, Bella and Yogi.
Jenna
Jenna is a Bay Area local and also one of our certified opticians. She's excellent at finding exactly what you need. If you don't catch her in the office, you may be able to find her at her second home, the gym, or with her two fur babies, Mya and Mr. Moo.
Linette
Linette is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz. She has traveled the world, and has now landed here in South San Francisco!
